About raaa

raaa is a small architecture practice based in The Hague. We work directly with clients from first sketch to final detail, keeping every project small enough to stay personal.

Our work leans toward quiet materials — timber, stone, glass — and toward plans that make sense before they make an impression. We believe a good building explains itself.

We build with natural materials wherever we can, and try to be kind to the planet we design for. Concrete has its place in our work, but we use it only when a project genuinely needs it — never as a default.

Founded in 2009, raaa has completed 78 residential, cultural and small public commissions across South Holland.

03 / How we work

Philosophy

01

Natural materials

We reach for timber, stone, clay and other natural materials before synthetic ones — they age well, feel right to the hand, and connect a building to the landscape around it.

02

Kind to our planet

Every material and detail is chosen with its footprint in mind. We design for durability and low energy use, so buildings stay kind to the planet long after we've left the site.

03

Concrete, only when needed

Concrete is a powerful material, but not a default one. We use it only where the structure or design truly calls for it — never simply because it's convenient.

Team

Rebaz Ali
Rebaz Ali
Architect / Owner

Founder of raaa, leading the studio's design direction and client relationships from first sketch to completion. Rebaz oversees every project personally, believing that close, hands-on involvement is what keeps the studio's work considered, coherent and genuinely tailored to each site and client.

Mohsen Haghparast
Mohsen Haghparast
Architect

Mohsen works across the studio's residential and cultural projects, from early concept through to construction detailing. He has a particular interest in material honesty and in how buildings age well over time rather than simply looking good on the day they're finished.

Mehrnaz Vosoghi
Mehrnaz Vosoghi
Architect

Mehrnaz brings a careful, research-driven approach to the studio's renovation and heritage work, balancing a building's existing character with the practical needs of modern use. She's especially drawn to projects where old and new have to sit comfortably side by side.

Deepthi Gangwal
Deepthi Gangwal
Architect

Deepthi focuses on the studio's larger mixed-use and residential commissions, working closely with engineers and contractors to keep designs buildable without losing their original idea. She enjoys the technical side of architecture as much as the conceptual one.

Parastoo Kochakzade
Parastoo Kochakzade
Architect

Parastoo works on the studio's interiors and smaller-scale projects, with close attention to daylight, material texture and the small details that shape how a room actually feels to be in, day to day, long after construction is finished.

Celine van Luijt
Celine van Luijt
Stagiaire

Celine is currently completing her internship with the studio, supporting the team across research, drawings and models while finishing her architecture studies. She's been a valuable extra pair of hands on several ongoing projects this year.
